Blue River Century

The Blue River Century is an annual bike ride through beautiful Summit County, Colorado benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The Blue River Century is one of the first cycling events in Colorado to have the goal of being a "zero waste" event (they diverted 94% of the waste generated by the 2009 event from going in landfills!). The Blue River Century is followed by the festivities of the 6th Annual Blues Festival and Art Show.

The Blue River Century offers a route for all intermediate and advanced riders. You can choose your route the day of the ride, at the final aid station. The Blue River Century offers a choice of three finishes:

  1. Loveland Pass Challenge - 109.48 miles with 8600 feet of elevation gain.
  2. A-Basin Finish - 103.26 miles with 7339 feet of elevation gain.
  3. Montezuma Finish - 101.42 miles with 6200 feet of elevation gain.

The Blue River Century follows the same route until the last aid station, at which point you can select from three different finish routes which vary in difficulty.

There is also a Metric Century option, with 63 miles and 3350 feet of elevation gain.

Note from the organizers: "We will be taking 2011 off to regroup and think about the future direction with the event."
