Missouri Triathlons and Duathlons

Triathlons (running, swimming, and bicycling) and Duathlons (running and biking) have become popular athletic pursuits for many people, and there are numerous events throughout the state all year long.

The following are a few of the many upcoming triathlon and duathlon events in the state of Missouri:

• 2012-06-30 – 2012 Hy-Vee IronKids Columbia – Columbia, MO
  Children ages 6-15 compete in age-appropriate distances with an emphasis on fitness, fun and safety.
• 2012-07-21 – Cameron YMCA Triathlon – Cameron, MO
  This course is designed for the beginning triathlete. Swim takes place in an outdoor pool. Bike and run courses are fairly flat with a few gently, rolling hills.
• 2012-09-23 – 2012 Ironman 70.3 Branson – Branson, MO
  Athletes enter Table Rock Lake from Moonshine Beach and swim a triangular, clockwise route. Expect a challenging and fast bike course that offers several incredible mountaintop views with long and gradual ascents and descents. Athletes transition from the bike to run at the shopping district of the Branson Landing for a pancake-flat run course. The finish line is located in front of a multi-million dollar fountain and fire show.
