Mountains of Mayhem is an annual event held at Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The event, formerly known as 'Hills of Hell', challenges off-road cyclists on a network of military roads, double track, rocky very technical single track and smooth single track through some forest. Riders will ride up very tough climbs, both single and double track. The Road Race is 22 miles and the Mountain Race is 16 miles. Aid stations are on the course and provide water for riders and any hardy spectators.
Better known as the stomping grounds for the great Comanche Chief Quannah Parker and Apache Chief Geronimo and the notorious James Brothers, the Wichita Mountains provide the perfect setting for the world's #1 sport. With craggy, gut-wrenching climbs, house-sized rocks, wet-your-pants downhills, and spiders as big as your hand, there's nothing mild about this ride.
