Kansas Triathlons and Duathlons

Kansas Triathlons and Duathlons Triathlons (running, swimming, and bicycling) and Duathlons (running and biking) have become popular athletic pursuits for many people, and there are numerous events throughout the state all year long.

The following are a few of the many upcoming triathlon and duathlon events in the state of Kansas:

2012-03-31 – Prairie Life Indoor Triathlon – Overland Park, KS
The race will consist of a 500 yard swim, 6 mile bike, and a 2 mile run. The entire race will be conducted inside the Prairie Life Fitness Center. *No Team Entry*
2012-04-15 – Spring Migration Triathlon 2012 – Emporia, KS
This sprint triathlon is a 400meter indoor swim, 20K bike on a flat highway 99 course, and a 5K run through the rolling hills of Emporia
2012-05-20 – Wichita Riverside Triathlon – Wichita, KS
Race begins and ends at the Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Center in south Riverside Park.
2012-06-02 – Get Fit 5K & Get Fit Youth TRYathlon – Pittsburg, KS
This event is for participants of all ability levels. Participants should make sure to bring all of their equipment to the clinic and triathlon. This will include but is not limited to: 1) swim suit, swim goggles, and 2 towels, 2) bike and bike helmet, 3) running shorts, running t-shirt, hat, sunglasses, 4) dry clothes for after the event, 5) sunscreen, water, and a light snack. Additional refreshments will be provided.
2012-06-03 – Inside Out Triathlon – Wichita, KS
400 yard pool swim. 13 mile bike, flat course, one hill. 3 mile flat run. The swim will be a serpentine swim. Please put an accurate swim time on your registration!! The bike route goes west on 21st N to 215th st., then north on 215th st. to 29th st. Then east on 29th st. to 167th st. Then south on 167th st to 21st and east on 21 st back to the YMCA. Run course goes east on 21st st. to 135th st and then north on 135th st to 29th st and then turn around and go back to the YMCA.
2012-06-09 – Hy-Vee IronKids Lawrence – Lawrence, KS
Children ages 6-15 compete in age-appropriate distances with an emphasis on fitness, fun and safety. Every participant will receive an 'IronKids Finisher' tee-shirt, a goodie bag, a K-dot finisher medal and the pride of calling themselves an IronKid.
2012-06-24 – El Dorado Lake Triathlon – El Dorado, KS
Races begin and end at Walnut River Beach at El Dorado Lake. Intermediate course will be two loops of the Sprint course for the bike and run and 2 loops of the swim.
2012-07-22 – Wichita Waterfront Triathlon – Wichita, KS
Race begins and ends at the the Wichita Waterfront on 13th and Webb
2012-08-19 – Manhattan Triathlon – Manhattan, KS
The event will be held at Tuttle Creek State Park in Manhattan, KS. The swim portion will be held in the River Pond Campground area. The bike portion will be an out and back route on Highway 13. The event will culminate with a flat out and back run course within the campground.
