
The Wiley Post Story Ride to Read is an annual bicycle ride that raises funds for the Public Library in Maysville, Oklahoma.
Maysville was the home town of Wiley Post, one of the most famous and innovative aviators of his time. Wiley was famous for making the first-ever flight around the world along with his navigator Harold Gatty in 1931. He also made the first solo flight around the world in 1933. He was world-renowned for his feats of flying as well as for the technological advances he brought to the field of Aviation.
The Wiley Post Story Ride to Read offers 30, 40, and 52 mile routes through the beautiful rural countryside on clearly marked paved roads. There will be plenty of eats and drinks and restrooms at all rest stops, and SAG wagons will patrol the routes to provide assistance for those who need help. A Spaghetti Dinner will be held following the ride for all riders. Pre-register to receive a free event t-shirt.
