KC Loses Cyclocross Nationals

After hosting the Cyclocross National Championships for the last two years, Kansas City’s ride is over, at least for now.

The 2009-10 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships have been awarded to the city of Bend, Oregon. With scheduled dates of Dec. 10-13 in 2009 and Dec. 9-12 in 2010, the two-year commitment returns the national championships to one of the most popular hotbeds of cyclocross racing in North America.

The nationals have been a real boon in building enthusiasm for the local ‘cross scene over the last two years. Here’s hoping they come back some day!
