10th Annual Kool-Aid Classic Bicycle Tour

Kool-Aid Classic Bicycle TourThe Kool-Aid Classic Bicycle Tour is celebrating the 10th year with a new course and more ride routes. The tour will be on Saturday, August 14, 2010 in Hastings, Nebraska. The event is sponsored by Hastings Unique Bicyclists (HUB) as a fundraiser for the Pioneer Spirit Trail, a 5.2-mile paved hike and bike trail. Routes of 20, 40 and 70 miles will be offered through the quiet countryside surrounding the birthplace of Kool-Aid. The event will be supported with several rest stops and Kool-Aid refreshment along the way.

Hastings, Nebraska was the home of Edwin and Kitty Perkins, the inventors of Kool-Aid, Nebraska’s Official Soft Drink. Each year there’s a festival known as Kool-Aid Days, celebrating the iconic powered drink, and featuring the World’s Largest Kool-Aid Stand, giant inflatable rides, carnival games, festival foods, trolley rides through the Hastings Historic District and many other events, including the Kool-Aid Classic Bicycle Tour.
