KanBikeWalk Annual Meeting 2010

KanBikeWalk Annual Meeting 2010KanBikeWalk is holding their annual meeting on November 20th in Olathe, Kansas, and you’re invited!

KanBikeWalk is a non-profit, statewide organization whose mission is to promote a safe bicycling and walking environment in Kansas. This important work needs your help and support, so if you’d like to be a part of making Kansas a better place to ride a bike, please attend.

The annual meeting starts at 1:30pm and runs until about 4pm. It will take place at the Indian Creek Branch of the Olathe Library, 12990 South Black Bob Road, in Olathe. There’s easy access wither by car or by bike, since the library is located right on the popular Indian Creek Trail.

Prior to the meeting, I’ll be leading a group ride starting at 10am from the library parking lot. The route will cover approximately 20 miles, and will include a tour of some of the excellent bicycling facilities in Olathe, including several multi-use trails, bike lanes and a new, state-of-the-art, multi-modal interchange over I-35.

If you haven’t seen these facilities first hand, this is a great opportunity to experience them for yourself. Olathe has been quietly building some fine bicycling infrastructure in recent years, and now boasts one of the largest systems of bike lanes and multi-use trails in the entire state.

Following the ride, we’ll gather at local restaurants for lunch, then begin the meeting at about 1:30 back at the library.

Both the bike ride and the annual meeting are free and open to all, whether you’re a member of KanBikeWalk or not. There’s no obligation to attend the meeting if you participate in the ride, but we hope you’ll join us to help build a statewide advocacy organization that can make a positive difference in people’s everyday lives.
