2013 National Bike Challenge: June Results

2013 National Bike ChallengeThe first two months of the 2013 National Bike Challenge are complete, and Kansas is holding on to 9th place nationally, with 365 riders participating, and logging over 115,000 miles!

In the state rankings, Kansas sits squarely in the middle of our region:

#1 = Nebraska: 1822 riders, 461,000 miles (#3 nationally)
#2 = Colorado: 1577 riders, 393,000 miles (#4 nationally)
#3 = Iowa: 915 riders, 208,000 miles (#6 nationally)
#4 = Kansas: 365 riders, 115,000 miles (#9 nationally)
#5 = Missouri: 208 riders, 58,000 miles (#36 nationally)
#6 = Arkansas: 130 riders, 21,000 miles (#38 nationally)
#7 = Oklahoma: 111 riders, 23,000 miles (#42 nationally)

Nationally, there are 31,901 riders, who’ve logged about 7.6 million miles. The national goal is 50,000 riders and 20 million miles for the entire May-September challenge period. The mileage goal looks to be within reach, but the rider goal is going to be a stretch.

If you haven’t signed up yet, you can still do so at NationalBikeChallenge.org. It’s free, and it’s fun to keep track of your miles. Encourage your family, friends, co-workers, and riding buddies to get involved, too!

You also have the chance to win some great prizes, just by logging your miles. The more you ride, the better your chances. Check out the list of May and June winners.
