Bike for Sight is an Omaha, Nebraska event that aims to raise money and awareness about cataracts, the leading cause of blindness worldwide, and the all-too-hard-to-get surgery in hard-pressed corners of the world. The University of Nebraska Medical Center is sending three surgeons to Haiti. The number of patients who can get vision-restoring surgery will be determined by the number of people who sign up for the Bike for Sight event.
The ride includes a free t-shirt, SAG support, and post-ride refreshments. Riders can choose from 5-, 10-, 20- and 40-mile routes that start on Abbott Drive and head north of Omaha.
100% of Bike for Sight event registrations will be used to fund sight-restoring surgeries on patients in Cape Haitien, Haiti.
