Capitol Classic

The Capitol Classic is a showcase for the very best in Topeka area cycling. The Capitol Classic has always been known for its great SAG food with fresh fruit and snacks. The Capitol Classic starts and finishes at the Kansas Judicial center parking lot directly south of the State Capitol at 10th and Harrison in Topeka.

The Capitol Classic offers four route options: 20, 42, 72 and a 35 mile gravel ride. Three of the routes will travel from our present-day Capitol to our First Territorial Capitol in Lecompton Kansas. You will be able to tour the territorial museum and then pedal over and check out Constitutional Hall.

The Capitol Classic is hosted and organized by the Kaw Valley Bicycle Club (KVBC). The ride follows paved secondary roads and county highways, and includes SAG stops, minor repair service and sweep vehicles. Transportation back to the origin will only be provided in the event of illness or accident.
