Cookie Wiebe Memorial Bicycle Ride

Cookie Wiebe Memorial Bicycle Ride

The Cookie Wiebe Memorial Bicycle Ride is an annual bike ride in Newton, Kansas, in honor of the late Cookie Wiebe, who was instrumental in launching Circles of Hope, an initiative of Peace Connections that fosters relationships between volunteers and families who want to make the journey out of poverty.

The event offers 10, 30, and 60-mile route options through the Flint Hills, followed by a homemade Amish lunch of soups, breads and pies. Following the ride, lunch is served and a short program is held to honor Cookie's memory.

The ride is limited to the first 100 registrants. Registration includes the lunch, SAGs, and a water bottle. T-shirts are available for purchase. A drawing will be held after the ride for five $50 gift certificates to Bicycle Pedaler in Wichita.

Note from the ride organizers: "The ride is no longer being planned as a regular event, and there are no additional rides currently being planned."
