The Dehydrator Bicycle Ride and Race is an annual event in Duncan, Oklahoma, hosted by the Duncan Band Boosters and the Duncan Bicycle Club. This event is one of the primary fundraisers for the Duncan Public Schools Band program, and many riders use it as a tune-up for the Hotter 'N Hell Hundred, which takes a few weeks afterward.
The Dehydrator offers recreational rides of four distances: 10 miles (flat course), 27 miles, 53 miles, and 69 miles.
The competitive race consists of 1-4 laps over rolling terrain. It is a challenging high speed event, with 4 race categories for both men and women, as well as a tandem bracket. Championship jerseys will be awarded to the men's and women's winners in the age categories, and medals will be awarded to the first 3 finishers in each of 5-year age groups for both men and women. Medals will be awarded to the first 3 finishers in each category of the tandem race.
A pace car will lead the racers to the race course at 8:00 a.m. All races will have separate standing starts. The recreational riders will start on their respective courses at 8:05 a.m.
Free meal and Simmons Center available after the ride/race: After you have finished the ride / race use your participant number to receive a free meal and to enjoy the use of the Simmons Center's fabulous recreational facilities. Massages will also be available at the Simmons Center after the race courtesy of Moore Massage Therapy.
