Onabike

Location of Onabike

The Chamber of Commerce of Onawa, Iowa hosts the annual Onabike, western Iowa's largest one-day bike ride. Each year, the ride is scheduled for the fourth Saturday in August, and takes riders through the scenic Loess Hills. The ride begins and ends on Onawa's main street, the "Widest Main Street in the USA".

There are two route options, a flat 29-mile route, and a 63-mile route with a few hills, including Murray Hill, the highest point in Harrison county. The longer route also takes riders through communities such as Turin, Soldier, Moorhead, Pisgah, Little Sioux, River Sioux and Blencoe. The ride includes rest stops, SAG wagons, and ends with a spaghetti dinner in downtown Onawa.
