Ride of Silence - Hutchinson

Ride of Silence - Hutchinson

The Ride of Silence is an annual event that takes place on the third Wednesday of May, at 7pm local time. It is a silent slow-paced ride (maximum 12 MPH). "Cyclists take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves."

Arrive early for a brief ceremony remembering friends, family and loved ones who lost their lives while riding their bicycle, followed by ride protocol and safety instructions prior to the ride.

The Hutchinson edition of the Ride of Silence begins at Third Avenue and Main Street before heading down Main to Avenue B, then west to Adams Street and then north on Adams to Fourth Street. It ends at Second and Adams.
