Kansas Cyclist - Kansas Bicycle Guide and Reference

The Great Escape bike ride is a fundraiser for the Spiritual Life Center at El Dorado Correctional Facility near El Dorado, Kansas. The purpose of the center is to reduce returns to prison and provide hope and meaning in the lives of inmates. The facility is being constructed using private funding from individuals, corporations, and foundation grants. The Spiritual Life Center is being built by the Central Kansas Prison Ministry.

The bike ride takes you through the beautiful Flint Hills on 25, 50, or 80-mile routes over paved roads on flat-to-rolling terrain. The event begins and ends at the El Dorado Correctional Facility. SAG stops and mechanical assistance are provided along the route, and lunch is provided for the 50 or 80 mile riders. Each participant receives free commemorative t-shirt (with pre-registration), and free massages are also available after the ride.
