The True Grit Ride 100 is an annual bicycling event that takes place in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This non-competitive cycling tour for individuals of all abilities includes 35, 50, 75, and 100 mile routes, in addition to a 10-mile Family Fun Ride. Pit-stop aid stations are roughly 10 miles apart and are well stocked.
The event is a large fundraiser to support the Community Services Clearinghouse, a non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance to families and children in need throughout seven counties in Arkansas and Oklahoma. The most well-known program the Clearinghouse offers is the Meals for Kids backpack program, which distributes over 2,000 sacks of weekend food each Friday to children who otherwise would go hungry before returning to class on Monday.
