The Wabash Trace Winter Solstice Ride takes place on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail in eastern Iowa. The ride takes place on (or near) the first day of Winter, known as the Winter Solstice, the time at which the Sun is appearing at noon at its lowest altitude above the horizon, and marks the shortest day and longest night of the year. From here on out the days start getting longer!
The ride begins at 3:30pm from the Depot Restaurant in Shenandoah, Iowa. There will be a dinner at 5:30 pm. For a free-will offering, there will be a baked potato bar, chili, hot cider, desserts, and who knows what else? There will even be some traditional Gaelic Honey Mead for you to sip.
