Historical Trails Cycling

Historical Trails Cycling organizes and leads tours on historic trails across America. Explore the history of America's past and enjoy nature's beautiful wonders along the way. Historical Trails Cycling follows in the footsteps of our ancestors, witnessing the history and culture they left behind. History is more fun when discovered from the seat of a bicycle.

Historical Trails Cycling was started by Tom Armstrong of Lincoln, NE in 1992, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Oregon Trail, which was scheduled for celebration in the summer of 1993. Today, they offer an annual Oregon Trail Tour (Independence, MO to Oregon City, OR), as well as supported tours on the Katy Trail in Missouri. They also offer the Sandhills River Voyage, a canoeing/kayaking camping trip on the Cedar, Niobrara, and Dismal rivers in the Sand Hills region of northwest Nebraska.
