Vitamin G for the ICT

Vitamin G for the ICT is a personal blog about riding bikes on gravel roads in Wichita, Kansas and the surrounding area.

Why gravel? Well because it is probably the safest cycling I've encountered, although I've wound up in a river while riding on gravel. Anyway for me the greatest allure to gravel is how much of it there is. I can be out for 2 or more hours and not have to take my shoes off at the end of the ride to count the cars I saw. Frequently I see more insects, wildlife, and herd animals than people or cars. The second thing that draws me is the hills. These roads were put up and over some killer hills, something hard to find in this area on pavement. So there is a training component as well. Lastly it is sooooo much fun to just be out in BFE with your friends. There is some seriously cool things off the beaten path. Ever been to Whitewater Stables? How about Osro (Ozro) Falls? Teter Rock? Can't get there without a little gravel in your travel!
