The League of American Bicyclists have announced their latest Bicycle Friendly Communities, and four cities in the region have earned a coveted place on this prestigious list: North Little Rock, Arkansas; Breckenridge, Colorado; Iowa City, Iowa; and St. Louis, Missouri.

The 2009 KanBikeWalk Annual Meeting takes place on October 31st in Wichita, Kansas, to discuss the important issues affecting Kansas bicyclists and pedestrians. There's also a short pre-meeting ride on the bike paths along the Arkansas River, starting at 10am.
