Joseph Sheehan Road Race

The Joseph Sheehan Road Race is an annual bicycle race from Leavenworth to Atchison, Kansas and back. The race is fully supported, including lead and wheel vehicles for each category and neutral SAG just before Atchison.

The Joseph Sheehan Road Race is sponsored by Santa Fe Trails Bicycles Racing team. It is in memory of Joseph Sheehan, an avid cyclist. Joseph crossed the state of Kansas on his bike at age 11. That September, he was struck and killed by a pickup truck. This race contests 50+ miles of challenging terrain. It starts and finishes outside the west gate of Fort Leavenworth on Santa Fe Trails Road.
