Kansas State Parks Bicycle Camping

Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT) is charged with "protecting and managing Kansas' natural resources and promoting outdoor recreation and conservation". KDWPT manages the system of 26 state parks, as well as numerous state fishing lakes and wildlife areas. Most Kansas State Parks offer both RV/car camping facilities, as well as primitive camp sites. In general, bicycle travelers may choose either type of facility, depending on convenience and cost (primitive sites usually cost less than full-service sites).

The following Kansas State Parks offer camping opportunities throughout the state:

Note: Some state parks offer "off-season" rates at lower costs; check with the individual state parks for details. Also, some amenities, such as drinking water may not be available during the off-season, due to factors such as freezing weather. Again, check with the individual state parks to confirm what amenities are available during your intended stay.
